After traveling around the world in his youth to sail at a professional level, Mathijs decided to study a bachelor's in Economics and a master's in Financial Economics in Rotterdam. After his studies, Mathijs started at Lincoln International, where he gained transaction experience across various sectors. At FrieslandCampina, he deepened his knowledge of the agricultural sector as an M&A manager. What convinced Mathijs to join Nordian in 2023 was the team’s atmosphere, the market approach, and the alignment with his own ambitions. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, kitesurfing, golfing, and you can still occasionally find him on the water in a sailboat.
